The strength of the collection is a compilation of over two hundred photographs documenting the growth and development of the Getz farm. Also included are newspaper clippings, maps, and a draft copy of Donald Van Reken's book "The Farm That Was a Zoo."

The Getz (Lakewood) farm began in 1910 when George Getz moved to Holland looking for a place to raise his family. He set up greenhouses, gardens, barns and publically opened his 257 acre estate.
